SoyandGlow was founded by Reitumetse Itholeng, whose lifelong connection to candles began in her childhood. Raised by her grandmother, a pensioner who lit candles when electricity was scarce, Reitumetse learned to pray by candlelight and discovered their deep spiritual symbolism in Christianity — with Psalm 18:28 echoing through her personal faith:
““You, Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light”
Fast-forward to 2022: what began as a candle-making hobby blossomed into a creative calling. But self-doubt and procrastination slowed the spark — until a diagnosis of anxiety and stress in 2024 inspired a journey of healing and self-reflection. Through therapy, journaling, and meditating with candles, Reitumetse found solace in nature and regained emotional clarity.
In January 2025, SoyandGlow was officially born — a brand rooted in wellness, intentional living, and the sacred beauty of self-care. Every candle, mist, and scent from SoyandGlow is crafted to nourish the body and spirit, honoring a legacy of faith, light, and resilience.
